This project was rewarding for being able to give a refreshed face on a craft table that had been used and need a little TLC. Additionally I built 4 three shelf cubbies.

The craft table was taken apart, stripped and sanded to bear wood. The entire table was reassembled and given two fresh coats of paint. As a top coat, a water based Polycrilic was used to provide a lasting, waterbased finish with an easy clean up for any mess.

I built the cubbies with 3/4 plywood, solid poplar hardwood face frames and beadboard backing. The joinery I used was dado and rabbet which not only are mechanical in nature but provide a long term connection that will stop shelf sag and allow a clean look from front and side. Each cubby was painted with Sherwin Williams Pro Classic, which is a higher end cabinet paint that works well with high traffic usage over time.
